Duplex Month Calendar problem

Reply from support, 05.12.2011, 20:24:

"Export Calendar as " PDF/TIFF is essentially a legacy function that has been largely superceded by the newer "Print to PDF" function.

Print to PDF has
1. smaller file size
2. text stored as text
3. more user options

Export to PDF/TIFF
1. basically exports a photographic copy of pages with a larger file size.
2. text is not stored as text.
3. few user options and only main calendar pages are exported.
4. However using "Export to ..." may resolve problems due to font substitution (when text is stored as text, a similar rather than identical font may be used)

Export Calendar as TIFF is identical to Export Calendar as PDF except that end result is multipage TIFF file.

Duplex Month Calendar problem

Reply from TeeGee, 05.12.2011, 19:29:

Many thanks for the speedy reply - I'll try that as an alternative for now, but are you saying that the 'Export to pdf' does not work as expected?
Also, you did not refer to the 'Export ot tiff' option which I was interested in.

Thank you.
Try using Print to PDF on File menu (rather than Export to PDF)
Help!! Just purchased this package particularly for producing one style. Just tried it and already have a problem.
I've opened a new template for a Month booklet in the duplex set, and have added a cover pic and also pics for each of the 12 months, which was OK. However, when I try to export the calendar as a PDF (or a tiff) it loses all the pics except for the cover pic. Adobe Reader only shows 13 pages ie the cover pic plus 12 pages of planners.
Any ideas what might be going wrong?

Thanks.

picture resolution

Reply from support, 05.11.2011, 23:02:

Pictures are reduced to the size required by the calendar. These artefacts are probably due to the original picture file being too big and requiring excessive reduction.
The picture file format will make no difference.
Also it is the opened image size in MPixels that counts, rather than the stored file size in MBytes. Try reducing the image, or "canvas", size in pixels with any image editor.

picture resolution

Post by Valboo, 05.11.2011, 21:14:

My pictures are always taken at a high resolution. I've attempted to lower to an acceptable range by changing the format as suggested but I still get the windown indicating they continue to be too high a resolution. The pictures actually print very nicely with the exception of 4 very fine blue line that runs across the picture horizontally. Can you suggest how to get rid of these lines?

Thanks for your help.

This problem is usually caused by Security Suite (CA Associates/AOL/MacAfee).
Armadillo, the software protection system used by Simply Calenders unfortunately can interpret action by Security Suite as potentially hacking and causes Simply Calenders to shut down.
You can try running SC_CAFIX.exe (in "Program Files\Skerryvore Software\Simply Calenders" folder).
Alternatively disable or uninstall Security Suite.
