Day labels for old calendar stay on new calendar

This behaviour is by design - allowing you to carry events over onto new calendar.
To start "fresh" with no user defined day labels , uncheck "Retain User-Defined day labels on opening template" when you open a new template.
To remove fixed events, such as national holidays, simply uncheck the relevant entry on Day Label menu.
You can also open a new copy of Simply Calenders to start calendar with no day labels.
